Audiophoric is an experimental audio-visual project based out of the Bay Area in California.

If you enjoy such artists as Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Bill Laswell, Massive Attack, and Boards of Canada, then Audiophoric is a must for your collection!

The project first began in early 2013 as a result of the combination of two, predecessor projects known as PoLR and Ambius. Both projects involved Producer/Drummer Jeff Gust. PoLR also offered up the visual and vocal talents of Brian Kato, and the Ambius project brought accomplished New Age pianist, Neil Patton into the fold. Since that moment, Audiophoric has been an ever evolving and growing coalition of like-minded, talented artists who graciously contribute to the project from over twelve different countries around the world.

The debut album, World Citizen, provides various sketches (12 Tracks) on a Jazz-based platform that also engage the Electronic, Ambient, and World music genres. The entire body of work is a cross- sectional view into three years of writing by the project founder and composer, Jeff Gust. Each track represents a solid foundation in Jazz, while creatively adapting key elements from the other genres. A myriad of talented and established artists like Pete Wall, Neil Patton and Tao Hojgaard help to define the project’s finer points and deliver a wide diversity of intriguing and exciting perspectives. Audiophoric’s sound would be best described as Ambient-Jazz-Electronic-World music. The opening track, “Shangri-La” represents all parts being equal of the project….there are brilliant ambient-like moments to give the recording space, peppered with Jazz improvisation, ethnic instrumentation, and a solid groove. The post-production quality gives the overall impression of a sleek and edgy-EDM feel.

Audiophoric is primarily a studio project and “live” performances have yet to be developed. The nature of this project being a truly, “world collaboration” makes the logistics of all contributing members gathering to present a live performance challenging. However, certain members have begun discussing the possibilities as of late 2016.
